Since middle of May of 2000 the Farm Is Jose, where the Inn is located Watery wine, it started to integrate the Plough-blue Project with the objective to collaborate in the process of conservation of the natural environment, assuring the survival of the Anodorhynchus species hyacinthinus inside of its country property.
The project of preservation of the Plough-blue ones (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) in the Pantanal Sulmatogrossense had beginning in 1990, with the dissertação of mestrado in the ESAL/USP of the Neiva biologist Maria Robaldo Guedes, today coordinating of the Project, that currently comes being carried through for UNIDERP (University for the Development of the State and Region of the Pantanal) and FMB, with sponsorship of WWF-Brazil, Hyacinth Macaw Fund, Caiman, Toyota and support of the CI and the farmers of the region.
The main objectives of the Project are to develop studies of basic biology, reproduction, behavior, petitions of habitat, handling and ambient education for the conservation of the species in the nature.
Beyond the scientific work developed by one team that counts on the participation of biologists, veterinarians, trainees, assistants and assistant of field, parallel a program of informal ambient education is carried through, that initially was developed by the biologist Eliza Mense Rodrigues (UNIDERP - Pantanal Foundation).
This program made spreading of messages through the senders of radios, to folder and posters, and also innumerable lectures for the scientific way and to the plough-blue population had been pronounced in general focusing, guiding proprietors on deforestations, forest fires and ecoturismo, stimulating the agricultural preservation of the together species the pantaneira community and schools.
The pantaneiros laborers and farmers had started to have pride to count on the plough-blue ones in its properties and want to conserve them. Today more account is not given to take care of to all the requests to study ploughs them in the Pantanal or other parts of Brazil.
In 2000 ten years of dedicated studies to the conservation of the Plough-blue one had been completed, and the results had made with that the species if became a symbol of the preservation of the Pantanal as a whole.
It can be affirmed that the majority of the people already heard to speak of the Project and many have revealed interest in collaborating.
For being an attractive and charismatic species, today, the traffic of these birds unhappyly continues great, but in the Mato Grosso of the South, senão finished for complete, diminished very, favours to the taken work of awareness the effect through the Plough-blue Project.
