Dear Stacey:
My name is Carmen Daily, I'm from Barcelona (Spain), and I'm in
California from the time I got married, 12 years ago. My husband Ray
Daily, has a company the name Animal Environments, we are producing the
best Bird Cages in the market, and we got a Hyacinth Macaw the name Xena
from Cherane Pefley, thanks to some high recommendations of customers we
did sold our AE cages for Cheranes baby's.
We really wanted a Hyacinth Macaw, finally after seeing very nice
photographs and talking to some of our customers, a friend and a very
good customer of us, Richard Osias, did all that possible, and in the
end of last year we ask Cherane we wanted one of her baby's.
With all this 12 years being next to my husband and expending many hours
in the telephone selling cages and knowing many of our customers, (very
high quality and professional people), thanks to all of them we know
from who they are getting the birds, and thanks to all this nice
experiences it's easier for us to know who is happy or unhappy with
their breeders, this is the reason we got the Hyacinth from Cherane.
Cherane told me our Xena will be ready in the end of July, Ray and me
been so busy moving one of our factories and plus we had a death in the
family, and Cherane had not any problem to hold Xena's until we will be
ready for her, and we thought we will do some vacations in October in
Florida and we will bring Xena's back to California with us...But:
"Was August 26 or 27 and I had an idea, August 31 was Ray's Birthday,
plus our Anniversary to be together and our busies times was slowing
down..." will be a nice to surprise my husband with Xena's..., I did
call Cherane, to ask if she can put Xena's in a cargo aeroplane to
arrive in San Diego August 31, well her response was : My Baby's they do
not fly cargo, you must came to Florida to get her or if you can not I
will try to came with an idea for someone get Xena's to California, of
course you will need to pay the ticket..... 24 hours lather a very
wonderful customer the name Brenda Piper, called our office, I did sold
some cages to Brenda and I met her in person this past July in the AFA
convention in Los Angeles, and a big coincidence in life she knows
Cherane too, and she is getting one of her Hyacinth too, well Brenda had
planes to visit her bird and Cherane did call her and ask after her
visit if she will like to fly Xena's to San Diego..., I was in shock...
I did fell very guilty to accept that, Brenda is a lovely person and a
very good customer and I'll love to see her back, but she is a very busy
business women, but she was ready to do that for me and for Cherane and
go back the same day....The next day I did send one of my Secretaries
the name Pilar to Florida to get Xena and of course I did pay a Ticket
for Xena's too...
We did surprise Ray, this was the best part!
Xena's is a such a good baby, she does not have any bad feelings, she
does not bite, she has a such of a nice personality, she goes to my
husband and back to me and we have 4 children a 10 years old boy the
name Blaine, Christina is 9, Raymond is 7 and Stephanie is 6, and Xena's
is another sister for all of our children, they play together, she is so
sweet to them is like a dream!.
I believe Xena's good character is thanks to Cherane's work, loving her,
this make this baby's sweet-hearts, the time, the sweetness she does
provid to them, make this baby's another member of our family's.
Xena's goes every day to work with us, my husband does the driving (15
minutes from the house) and she seats in my shoulder, she does love it!,
she expend the day on our AE Ringstain in the office, sometime in Ray's
office sometimes in mine, she has another Rigstain at home in our
computer and playing area and she has a big Stainless Macaw cage in the
leaving room (Of course this is the easier part for us...!).
She eats very well, she is very friendly to everyone and not laud, and
we have lots of experience with birds.
Xena's can say Hello! and Hola! and she already knows how to go to the
bathroom.
We are so happy, and I'll recommend Cherane baby's to all my customers.
I hope you can get one of this baby's, sometimes Cherane goes to much
far, she is to picky and to much professional, but this is what this
Blue Baby's need, lot's of love, lot's of time and lots of caution, just
to be ready to go to lovely homes to enjoy them like we enjoy our Xena.
I can give a phone number of another customer of mine, in California, he
got a Hyacinth Macaw from a Pet Shop and after 2 days, the birds was
very very sick and my customer did expend a fortune to get this baby
back to normal, of course he never got the baby from Cherane, this baby
is alive thanks to veterinarians and thanks to the loves of my customer,
sometimes this things happen, and I believe this is the reason Cherane
is to picky and cautious .... Our Xena's did arrive very healthy, with a
nice shine colour and a very nice personality, and Cherane did make sure
when she did arrive to me, to call me via telephone asking me to put
Xena in the phone, she did talk to her explaining to Xena her new
home.... can you believe that! Cherane's really love her baby's.
I hope you can understand my poor english, in spanish I can do a better
job. My husband said to me he will respond you, he is american and he
will go direct to the point of your questions, I just wanted to explain
why? we got Xena from Cherane and it's true Xena's is a high quality and
sophisticated baby with blue wings, our customers was 100% correct,
Cherane does not sell birds, she sells creatures full of love for ours
families. My husband, my kids and me are very proud to have one of
Cheranes Hyacinth with us.
Muchas Gracias, Thank you very much!

I am pleased to say that I had Cherane come to my aviary for a consulation. I was very satisfied with her work and suggestions. I found her very easy to work with. In the short time since Cherane has been here many adjustments have been made. My husband was not pleased with the fact that I hired Cherane to do a consultation. But after her visit my husband made the changes and saw for himself that the changes made a difference. The aviary is now much easier to service and the breeders seem more content. I would highly recommend Cherane to do a consultation.

Cherane was very inspirational during her visit to my
aviary. After her visit to my aviary things it became
easier to manage. It took less time to care for the
birds and cleaning was easier. The birds are happier
now in their new enviroment and breeding more.
Although there were many problems, she tackled them
one by one and explained why the changes needed to be
made. Even if you think your aviary is productive a
visit from Cherane is surely a good investment in the
business. I plan to have her back to design my baby
room in the near future. Take it from me, it is well
worth the time, money and effort to have her come and
visit. You won't be disappointed!!
Sincerely,
Nick

Re: Indigo Blue
Dear Cherane,
I had written to you a few years ago regarding the hearty
and stalwart health and well being of the subject hyacinthine macaw, bred by you, as hatched on the 18th of August 1998.
I am writing this follow up letter, not simply as a matter
"good housekeeping," but also for the record, from my prospective, as the proud Father of One of your flock.
Unfortunately the commerce of exotic bird breeding is
riddled with less than conscientious breeders attracted
to the quick buck available for the aristocratic, blue
blooded creatures of blue feather.
Before finding you and my, then to be, adopted Son,
Indigo Blue, I had traveled, by private aircraft, and
auto, throughout, and criss crossing the State of Florida, accompanied by a vet tech, visiting a multitude of
breeders of Hyacinth Macaws.
We found some "fine macaws," however the vet tech found some fine flaws. I could list, ad naussium, the multitudinous issues of fractured perfection as life does render. However
the point of this communication is not about the imperfections of life, but about the perfection achieved of, and in your breeding stock, and achieved via your rearing techniques.
Indigo Blue is now Five years old, and represents the healthful perfection of breeding, as aforementioned. He
is smarter than some adult humans I know. Idigo is extraordinarily observant, keenly perceptive, and an awesomely dedicated and loving friend. The gentle giant
is elegantly aware of his awesome power, thus knowing
when to ease back on his beak power in rough and tumble play.
On Memorial Day we attended several Hawaiian beach parties of friends, all of whom he had made that day.
He was the spunky, rhythmic dancer in the center of a
few local (Hawaiian) choral groups, and on the arms
and shoulders of almost every child at our neighborhood beach, known by many of its attendees as "Indigo Beach."
In closing, and further about Indigo's human friends,
I should note that last Christmas Day, we awoke to
find Four Christmas gifts left anonymously by neighbors,
for their fine feathered friend, Indigo Blue.
I thank you for raising the finest of the breed.
Fondly,
Richard

We purchased a Scarlet Macaw from Cherane at Heavenly Avaries(i think thats the name) and she was the most delighful and knowledgable person that I have ever known in my fifteen years of owning birds, I myself as an avian tech holding many certificates in the avian care field did not know I could learn any more than I already did, till I met Cherane, The Scarlet Macaw is the largest most beautiful baby i have ever seen and i have seen many, It was everythiong she said it was and then some, Cherane is not a person that cares more about money than the bird, if she doesent think the bird is right for you she will turn any offer you may make down.
I reccommmend her to any one who is looking for top quality in a top breeder.if you need more info on Cherane please e-mail me and I will give it to to you.
God Bless you all and have a wonderful day,
Marc & LeeAnn Berry
p.s. thought you would like to know that we drove 340 miles one way to pick up one of her babies and it was well worth the trip, and she even treated us for breakfast.

As to meeting Cherane, that is actually a lot of fun. She is a very
knowledgeable person and is full of good information. It's especially
wonderful to see her with her birds as they truly respond to her in an
unbelievable fashion. I bought Mikee (our 36 year old Hyacinth) from
Cherane and he is an absolute joy. Despite the long trip up to
Massachusetts from Florida, the very next day started talking to us. He
stepped right up on both my boyfriend and my arm like he'd been doing it
all his life. He also started talking right away with his vast
repertoire of words. And best of all, he laughs just like Cherane! He
is one of the happiest birds I have ever seen and so very smart. I am
surprised at the clarity with which he speaks because most macaws that
I've heard speak are pretty garbled. Not him. Even without knowing all
the words he says, you can understand him very very well. He weighs in
at a whopping 1550 grams and eats well and almost everything you give
him.
Anyway, I just wanted to share how happy I am with him and what a great
bird he is. And I attribute that all to Cherane's care and skill.

Hi Cherane!
Dropping a note that Pearl is doing very well. Pearl is quite the
sweety, which she does say "hi sweety" Pearl eats breakfast with us
every morning and spends quite a bit of time throughout the day with us.
My husbands oldest son spent a few days with us and Pearl fell in love
with him. Pearl and Danny would lay on the floor and Pearl would crawl
into Danny's shirt and snuggle with him. Anyway Pearl is adjusting well
and her personality just keeps on coming, we both are learning alot from
each other.
thanks, we love Pearl, Joyce

Dear Cherane, This album is almost as
beautiful as your Hy-babies, displayed, within.
Naturally, I am prejudiced to Indigo Blue, whose photo
appears, adjacently herein, as recently I adopted this
gentle giant. Indigo, a brawny, hardy, and stalwart
male, is possessed of a rare balance of character. He
is a strong courageous, independent, and stalwart
creature of compelling love, yet he is also
affectionate, compassionate, docile and sweet.
Your breeding competency is obviated in the
aforementioned personality profile. Thank you for
raising this "Mighty," sweet giant, I am proud to
call my "feathered son." Richard A. Osias

From: Osias1

BCC: Cherane
Re: Cherane Pefley, Breeder, Extrodinaire
Dear Hyacinth Lover,
You must love the breed to spend as did I, Eight Thousand Dollars plus air charter, plus (in my case) to
fly in an avian specialist to examine the prospective new family member.
I am, as you realize by now, the man to whom Cherane refers to, as the purchaser of the Hyacinth, having
accepted the
rules, affixed to the transaction, by Cherane Pefley,
seeming, at first, to be, merely arbitrary and capricious.
Please accept my letter in the spirit intended, being to assist you in understanding a
VERY UNUSUAL breeder, k/a Cherane Pefley, the subject, as much as her babies, of this letter.
I had visited four other breeders, before buying Cherane's
baby, and it is not a grammatical error, when referring to
Cherane's Hyacinths as being "Her Babies," for it is her
love and care, thru the months of nights that appropriately render that title to be correct.
All other breeders claim the same, but I can attest, to the
fact that "Cherane's babies" are products of hundreds of loving, caring hours of tender attention,as I have
been writing a book, to be published later this year, and often work thru the night, with the AOL screen kept open, I'd
see Cherane coming on all night long. We'd chat for a few minutes, and then she'd be off to tend to her chicks.
I virtually observed, gram by gram,
as reported the subject Hyacinth's growth from, Cherane's assisted hatching.
Back to the Hyacinth, I had purchased from Cherane, named "Indigo Blue." I wondered about all of the rules
you question,
and can now report, with the healthiest, biggest (for his age), strongest and most loving Hyacinth I'd ever seen,
known
and loved, that the end result of all of those sensible rules
that this lady is the breeder of breeders, as her babies are
the cream of the crop!
I spoke, above, of recently viewed and inspected Hyacinths and the word "loved," in the plural, and this was not
an exaggeration or mistake. I had purchased, before Indi, a
female (My first choice, you lucky dog) Hyacinth for $7800.00 from a Miami breeder, which I sold
within six weeks, for $4800.00 to an Avian Shop & Zoo, as I had come to realize that its growth was
stunted, and its biting tendencies were not of the normal chicks psyche.
This, I later learned, possibly was likely not attributable
to the breeder, but possibly the broker, pet shop, having
raised the chick from early days, to my purchase, at the age
of nine months, such being of little consolation.
I tell you of these stories, simply to edify the process of due diligence exercised by the undersigned, only to
have, at first failed, and paid the price of time and a multitude of trips around the State to learn that Cherane's
Hyacinth babies are worth, in contrast to what I had seen and/or purchased, Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) Dollars.
(I had paid Eight Thousand
($8,000.00) Dollars, and since the said purchase, I have turned down two offers of Ten Thousand ($10,000.00), each
to sell "Indigo Blue."
This is a long letter written to accord you the faith and confidence in Cherane's babies, for which I hereto attest,
as being the champions of all Hyacinths.
I give you credit in two out of two areas of avian determination, One for selecting Cherane, and the
other for having purchased the best bird cage in the
world, designed and manufactured by a genius in his
field, Ray Daily, as marketed by his wife Carmen,
whose expertise on the subject is second only to that
of her husband.
All of the other cage-crap (sorry, but that's what they are)
in today's market represent greater risk to its inhabitants
than reward. Ergo risk to reward ratio, when purchasing
the other products is of a negative value. I shall not belabor
the issue and this letter with details, but I do have such,
should you ever desire to review.
Please do not hesitate to call, write, E-mail or fax me for
further details, relative hereunto,
Sincerely,
Richard PS: Time does not accord me the opportunity to
proofread this epistle, so please forgive the
likely error content of its hateful composure.

Dear Ms. Champion,
In answer to your question regarding my experience
with macaws, please be advised that I have related
to macaws, (as humans does not really possess,
except in the human mind, such creatures of wisdom
and beauty), for over Thirty years.
It is wise to speak to those whom have purchased
macaws of the same lineage, for therein lies a major percentage of all creatures character and personality
traits.
My regard toward Cherane's stock and offspring's, therefrom, is on record in the form of a letter, at
Cherane's. However, I assume that you have read this.
Therefore, and further, thereto, please note that my
belief in Cherane's babies is edified by my intention
to purchase another Hy-Guy, to be a sibling pal to
my 2 year old Hyacinth of Cher's flock. This invokes
Eight Thousand miles of transportation,
and at a purchase price greater than that paid
here in the Hawaiian Islands. I would do this
simply because Cherane has the finest breeding
stock, and of equal importance is her breeding
procedures.
An edification of Cherane's macaw and other
"exotics" breeding procedures, from my
viewpoint, follows:
1. Cherane raises her kids with pure, unadulterated
and absolute LOVE, and it shows in EVERY
character trait of her feather heads. They're as
loving and sassy as is Cherane.
2. My boy, "Indigo" is now speaking frequently,
however, notwithstanding our relationship, since
he was Nine months of age, he speaks in Cherane's
voice. The vocal strain of his choice is simply a
reflection of his remembrance of Cherane's love.
3. In answer to your question regarding intelligence,
I believe that "Indigo Blue" clearly displays a capacity
to reason.
4. Cher was a competitive body builder for
years, and thus, is a health food fanatic, which
is the quintessential "nature" of the diet formulated
by which she raises her kids. Cherane has been a
nutrition advisor to human athletes and pet bird
food companies.
5. Her stock exudes great health, loving affection and intelligence for all of the above. reasons. The Department
of Agriculture for the State of Hawaii must examine and approve all animals entering the State, followed by a
period of statutory quarantine. Indigo was only
subjected to a One Month "In Home" quarantine
requirement.
6. The examiners, and head of the Department expressed
great admiration for Indi's features, attitude, etc., this
after Twenty Hours of flying in a small under the seat confining container, as a humane summer requirement
of all airlines. (I petted him most of the way
and walked off of the plane seeming to be a hunchback.)
Cherane is the "BBB" (BEST BIRD BREEDER) in the USA.
I know, as before adopting one of her Hy's, I had visited
a dozen others, as I did her, with a vet tech, who kept
saying "NO!" till we chartered a plane to visit her and
"Indi" in Vero Beach. There were no questions about
our mutually jubilant "YES." The pilot flew the three
of us back to Naples, Florida.
I have four daughters (human) and one blue son,
who believes he's human, too.
Call me if there is more you would like to know, such
as the rigors of Cherane's follow up in assistance
freely accorded, for as long as required, after the
adoption. She still regularly speaks to Indigo on the
phone, and he DOES KNOW to whom he speaks.
I wish you the best, with the best reared by the best.
Sincerely,
Richard

24 January 2000 Dear Cherane, This album is almost as
beautiful as your Hy-babies, displayed, within.
Naturally, I am prejudiced to Indigo Blue, whose photo
appears, adjacently herein, as recently I adopted this
gentle giant. Indigo, a brawny, hardy, and stalwart
male, is possessed of a rare balance of character. He
is a strong courageous, independent, and stalwart
creature of compelling love, yet he is also
affectionate, compassionate, docile and sweet.
Your breeding competency is obviated in the
aforementioned personality profile. Thank you for

Gold Macaw, Lucy, gets to come home.
My question to you would be: The song that plays when
this page opens
:{http://www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/static/1693/index.htm}, is it Xena singing?
Thank you for the visit. It is a wonderful thing you
are doing for this endangered species.
Blessings for each of you and yours; this is what I
pray for.
I loved this page also: {http://www.cherane.com}.
Sincerely,

Cherane,
It seems mundane to say once again as many others
have....your birds are byond words! You are a
responsible bird momma!
Thank you for sharing!
I share my life with two macaws and am newly married.
I am in the process of moving to the northwest to be
with my new husband. He is so excited about the
prospect of living with 2 macaws and a quaker that he
has bought them all beautiful cages. He has much to
learn! He is an animal lover with a wonderful, caring
attitude.
Thanks again for the beautiful web site.

Nice to see happy birds. I too have a big blue boy
named Meeko. I purchased him when he was still and
egg. Although this was a money down investment and I
did not bring him home until he was 7 months old. He
is now 11 and we are the best of buddies. Safe to say
we will grow old together. Hyacinthine macaws are
definitley amazing and beautiful creatures. I feel
blessed to have one in my life. |

Dearest Cherane,
You're famous!! You made the cover of Photopoint!!
Diseased Aviary? Puh-leeeze!
Knowing you like I do, your aviary is cleaner than my
kitchen, and perhaps even my plates. Your babies are
adorable, see I told you you're smarter than me, thats
why when your little babies start to feather, they
have BLUE feathers emerging instead of PINK ones like
I've got. Some day Cherane,
Some day!!! Jo |

2 September 2000 Honolulu, Hawaii
Aloha Cher, and Fellow Macaw Lovers,
Indigo Blue, of Cherane's magnificent breeding, has
been my feathered Son for over two years, since he
was approximately nine months of age. Shown here
with his adoptive mother, Tanja,
Indigo enjoys many human friends. Sensing the
innocence of children, whom he quickly and most
readily accepts their friendships after his first
"eye to eye contact," this being the way of his
human interview determining the security, or lack,
thereof to a furthering relationship.
Unlike most other macaws I have observed, however,
typical of "Cherane's Flock," children are safe and
secure in the powerful clutches of her gentle giant
Hyacinths, given a bit of maturity,i.e., one year
of age, and adult supervision. I have added the
words, "Adult supervision" to err to caution and
to avoid multitudinous criticism of the dyed in
the wool, disbelieving macaw fancier, advocating
not to allow children near a macaw, however, to
whom the family Doberman, often of a split
personality, is a Cool Child's Companion.
Cherane's kids ARE docile creatures possessing
heart's bigger than their bodies, and unbelievable
mental capacities, with the uncanny ability to reason.
(Again, I present a theorem which may be easily
attacked with tons of literature.) I write this
truism, nonetheless, being of a macaw literate mind,
possessed of greater than Thirty years of personal
experience.
Indigo Blue is the protector of my Seven and Two Year
old daughters. He plays with children of all ages, in
the parks and on the beaches of Hawaii, where we now
live. I do not advocate this freedom, absent
prior training and continued surveillance.
Once you have a Cher-Hy, the best of America's bred
macaws, it is an imperative, to realize that you must
raise and train these children as they have been bred,
WITHOUT DEVIATION, with positive reinforcement, absent
any and all negative treatment.
One must accord the liberal use of time and doting
attention, emphasizing LOVE, as the only means of
communication, to achieve the continuum of education
for Cherane's children of love, as they were bred
with love, food and water from "day one."
If you are wishing to have a macaw in your family,
then bring the best and the most into your home.
Get to know one of Cherane's macaws, each and all
being the best of their breed.
All breeders claim the same affinity and the dearest
of loving affection to and for their stock, some
shedding a tear to be observed by the purchaser on
departure, to then ugh all the way to the bank.
I must write, that "Some other breeders are truly
sincere."
However, I know no other, as Cher, to spend years
of endless sessions with the adoptive parents of
her kids, to insure the well being of the new
family formation.
Name the issue of required advise, and she'll
provide the answer, or conduct the research
required, to accordingly achieve the expertise,
If the issue is new to her, (And such would
be rare), e.g., to name the best Avian vet
in Honolulu.
Thank you, Cher for giving me a love of my life,
One of my children, and my only son, Indigo Blue
Osias.
Fondly,
Richard

The baby girl that is in this photo is mine. She is
the most loving little baby! Cherane truely cares
about all her babies and it shows through their loving
hearts. She also makes sure that they all go to the
best homes. I am so luckly that I was able to get
such a good one. Cherane not only was there before
the sale, but has stood my her bird after the sale as
well. Showing how much she loves her little ones! And

Cherane,
Your Eclectus are beautiful, and by the looks of this
photo, they are beautifully set up with protection
from wind, a spacious environment, exposure to fresh
air and sunlight, and I'll bet some good chow too.
When we are considerate of our birds needs, they
reward us with a bountiful harvest of lovely babies to
be cherished by future owners....this is as it should
be...this is a good thing.

Cherane,
Is my sweet "Glossie" Mango? Thanks for sending me the
info to see the pictures. My family really enjoyed

can post it as the parents of Mango if you would like.
I'll do that as soon as I can. Becky... |

I saw your site and love the photos. I have 3 solomon
island eclectus parrots and hope to one day add a vos
female to my little flock. I also read on your web
site about your stolen scarlet. My deepest condolances
go out to you. Living here in Florida put us at great
risk for bird thefts. I hope you eventually find out
who did this and that they get the punishment they
deserve. |

Hello. The bird is a Blue-front Amazon. He sure is
beautiful as is your Hyacinth Macaw. I like all types
of birds but the Amazons are my favorite. I love
their personalities. I have two birds, a ten year old
male Pied Cockatiel and an eighteen month old
Double-Yellow Head Amazon. You are very lucky to have
this beauty visit you. |

I agree, this is a beautiful blue front Amazon. We
have a pet blue front, with super personality; Also I
have a pair that raise babies for me. But how lucky
you are to be able to enjoy them more naturally!
Where do you live? Your hiacinth is fabulous! |
Ginger | PETCUTTERY@aol.com |
It is hard to see the hen. The other two are blue
fronts as the other posters said. My eyes are out
today but the hen looked like she may have more yellow
on head. Is she the same as the Father. possible
hybrids here on the baby. Maybe start a new Florida
breed LOL like the Cinnimon Mutaions green cheeks in
Palm beach. |
Rich | riitaalin@webtv.net |
I thought first that it was
a double yellew head,but will
agree that it is probably a blue
front.
I have a Tucaman Amazon which is
pretty rare. He says and does about
everything. You truly are blessed!
enjoy and LOVE them! Rich |
